Project Summary

8OS is a Halo Infinite community focused on competitive play and community events. I was responsible for improving the server’s operational structure by designing scalable moderation systems, streamlining onboarding, and implementing processes that support both staff collaboration and long-term community growth.

Challenge

As the community evolved, moderation processes, onboarding, and internal operations became increasingly inconsistent. Staff relied on undocumented workflows, making moderation decisions difficult to standardize and creating unnecessary friction for both moderators and new members. The goal was to establish clear systems that could scale with the community while creating a more trustworthy and organized member experience.

Approach

Restructured the server’s channel and category architecture.

Configured moderation automation to reduce repetitive tasks.

Redesigned the onboarding experience for new members.

Implemented automated Twitch stream notifications.

Configured a scalable role hierarchy and permission system.

Developed server rules and moderation guidelines.

Built internal moderation workflows and staff documentation.

Designed visual branding assets for the community.

Implemented ModMail for private member support.

Improved the server’s long-term scalability and organization.

Designed a structured ban appeal process.

Selected Work

Outcome

• Established documented moderation procedures.
• Standardized staff workflows and decision-making.
• Reduced manual administrative work through automation.
• Improved onboarding consistency for new members.
• Built a scalable operational foundation for future growth.

Reflection

This project reinforced that healthy communities rely on systems rather than individuals. By documenting workflows, standardizing moderation, and improving onboarding, the server became easier to manage while providing members with a more consistent experience.
